A level that matches the exercise
A weaker bot leaves time to execute a plan and practise checkmate, while a stronger one punishes loose pieces and king weaknesses sooner. Opponent choice should follow the skill you want to test.
Practise both colours
Changing sides lets you test a White repertoire and your responses to an opponent as Black. The bot makes the first move when you select Black, so the training game remains consistent with normal chess rules.
Treat the game as analysis material
The result alone does not explain when the position changed. After finishing, return to the first move where you lost your plan and examine alternatives instead of immediately starting another game.
A short bot-training session
- Choose one objective, such as safe development, converting an advantage, or defending a difficult ending.
- Select a level that leaves enough time for deliberate decisions and play without taking moves back.
- Record three critical moments and review them instead of judging the session only by the final score.
Public game access
Selecting a bot and colour and playing the game work without sign-in. An account is used for permanent statistics and saved progress; a public guest game does not create a private guest profile.
